Business Etiquette: It’s Not About the Rules, It’s About the Relationships

Often when I address a group, I am asked dozens of questions about the rules of etiquette. And before answering the questions, I encourage the audience to picture etiquette as more about building quality relationships than about following a set of rules.

Etiquette, in its true essence, is taking the time to acknowledge the other person, and then doing your level best to meet their needs- in a considerate way.

The result of building those relationships brings loads of dividends to you and others.
